Will the scene remain if I remove one or all devices from a smart scene?

Understand what happens to your smart scenes when devices are removed and how to manage scene validity.

When you remove a device, the scene itself will still be retained in the Scene page, but the scene actions associated with this device will become invalid and cannot be executed.

The scene remains visible in your Scene page after device removal, but any actions tied to the removed device will no longer function.

What Happens When You Remove a Device

When you remove a device from a smart scene, the system handles it as follows:

  • The scene remains in your Scene page and is not automatically deleted
  • Any scene actions that depend on the removed device become invalid
  • These invalid actions cannot be executed when the scene runs
  • Other actions in the scene that don't depend on the removed device continue to work normally

Managing Scene Validity

To maintain functional scenes after removing devices:

  1. Review your scenes after removing any device
  2. Edit scenes to remove or replace actions associated with the deleted device
  3. Test the scene to ensure remaining actions work as expected
  4. Consider creating new scenes if the removed device was central to the scene's purpose
