Why does opening the app always show the device offline, and then automatically restores after a second or two?

Learn why devices appear offline when launching the app and automatically restore connection shortly after

If you notice that when you open the app after it hasn't been launched for a long time, your devices initially show as offline but then automatically restore to online status after a second or two, this article explains why this happens.

Understanding Cloud Connection Process

When the app has not been launched for a long time, it needs to reconnect with the cloud server when you log in again. During this connection process, devices temporarily appear as offline.

Why This Happens

This is a normal behavior that occurs due to the cloud connection process:

  • Initial Connection: When you first open the app after a period of inactivity, the app needs to establish a connection with the cloud server
  • Temporary Offline Display: While connecting to the cloud, the app temporarily cannot communicate with your devices, so they appear as offline
  • Automatic Restoration: Once the cloud connection is established (usually within 1-2 seconds), the device status automatically updates to reflect their actual online state

What You Can Expect

This behavior is similar to many apps that require a few seconds to buffer before displaying content - it's simply the process of connecting to the cloud server. The duration and frequency of this temporary offline status may vary depending on:

  • Phone Performance: Devices with better processing power typically establish cloud connections faster
  • Internet Connection: A stable and fast internet connection reduces the reconnection time
  • Time Since Last Launch: The longer the app has been closed, the more likely you'll notice this temporary offline status

Important Note

This is a normal phenomenon and not a device malfunction. The devices are not actually offline - the app is simply temporarily disconnected from them during the cloud reconnection process. You don't need to worry about this behavior or take any action.
