Device Often Offline with Flashing Indicator
Learn how to troubleshoot when your device is often offline, the device indicator keeps flashing, and the device cannot be controlled.
The device is often offline, the device or device indicator keeps flashing, and the device cannot be controlled. What should I do?
If your device has been offline for a long time, you need to manually reset the device to the waiting-to-be-networked state and then manually re-add the device. If your device is often offline, please troubleshoot in the following ways:
Common Causes of Frequent Offline Issues
Router Power or Network Issues
Please confirm whether the router has a power outage or network interruption. If so, it takes some time to restore the network, please confirm whether the device is online again after 2 minutes.
Router Configuration Changes
Please confirm whether you have replaced the router or modified the Wi-Fi name, password, etc. If so, the device needs to be removed and then re-added.
Distance from Router
The device is too far away from the router:
- Indoor environments: More complex, it is easy to go offline after more than 5 meters
- Outdoor environments: More spacious, it is easy to go offline after more than 10 meters
Weak Wi-Fi Signal
The Wi-Fi signal where the device is located is too weak, for example:
- Several walls are separated from the router
- The device is wrapped in a metal shell or there are metal objects nearby
- Nearby high-power electrical appliances such as air conditioners, refrigerators, etc. interfere
Network Problem Verification
You can try to use the mobile hotspot to connect to the device to check if it is a network problem that causes the device to go offline frequently.
Firmware Update Issues
Please confirm whether the device has just updated the firmware. When the device updates the firmware, it will disconnect from the network and automatically reconnect to the network after the update is complete. However, if your network is unstable, it may not be able to connect after the firmware is updated. The device needs to be removed and re-added.
Check whether the firmware is the latest version. Check the path on the app side: Home Page → click the device icon → click the upper right corner button → device upgrade
Router Overload
If the device goes offline after using it for a period of time, but the device recovers after restarting the router or re-networking the device, it means that the router is overloaded due to long-term high-load use. You need to replace a router with stronger load capacity or reduce the number of devices connected to the router (usually household routers are stable with less than 20 connections).
If all of the above situations have been successfully ruled out, please put the device in a network environment with strong and stable signals and re-network it. If there is still a problem with the device offline, you can provide feedback in the App feedback path. Thank you for your support!
Device Indicator Light Continuously Blinking
If your device or the device indicator light is continuously blinking for no reason, please troubleshoot in the following ways:
Device Removed from App
Please confirm whether you have removed the device from the app side. Some devices will automatically enter the waiting-to-be-networked state after being removed, and the device or device indicator light will continuously blink to indicate that the device has entered the waiting-to-be-networked state.
Accidental Device Reset
Please confirm whether you have frequently opened and closed the device or accidentally long-pressed the device switch key within a short period of time. Because through the above operations, some devices will be reset to the waiting-to-be-networked state, resulting in the phenomenon that the device or device indicator light continuously blinks.
Hardware Damage
If all of the above situations have been successfully ruled out, it means that there is hardware damage to your device, causing the device to enter the waiting-to-be-networked state for no reason. Please contact the sales person for after-sales service.
